Posted August 12, 2022. The 1st generation of the 1.0 ECOboost engine has never been used in the Focus MK4. Unlike the Fiesta MK8 the Focus MK4 did have the new 2nd generation of the 1.0 ECOboost engine from the start of production. So the 1.0 ECOboost in the Focus MK4 always has a timing chain between the crankshaft and the camshafts.
