I have an 02 1.8 zetec petrol. On a full tank of about £40 I normally get 400-450 miles depending how I drive I have found driving at 60 gives the best mpg. I normally fill up with £20 and get about half a tank (depending what the price of petrol is that week) and get about 170-180 miles which is just short city journeys, 10-15 miles.
