Not claiming Engine Ice will harm anything as I've used it in the past but KTM is recommending M3 for a reason, ask a Ducati Multistrada owner about dissolving magnesium/aluminum cylinder heads. YMMV #12

The adventure rings will work on all the 1xxx adventure bikes including the R #14. PaveMint and razteo like this. (KTM) > Hard. Core. (1090/1190/1290) > Style
Both would be fine for long highway trips and offroading. The 1290 better for the former and the 890 better for the latter. I've rode to Banff, from OR to TN, and done most of the WA, OR, and MABDRs on my 1290 SAR and had no real wants of a lighter bike other than the fact that it'd obviously make it easier. . 474 25 435 340 188 54 190 462
